Marriott Falls

A beautiful set of falls at the end of an hour long walk. The track was pretty much unformed and muddy and slippery. Still I struggled through with my camera bag and tripod.

But! When I opened my camera bag to get the camera out it was not there. It was an hours walk away back at the car 🙁

As the old adage goes the best camera is the one you have. So I slummed it and used my iPhone. Actually a few of the shots this trip have been on the iPhone.

Found out that if use "live" on the iPhone you can use a slow shutter speed simulation afterwards. But its not the same.

Mt Field National Park

I thought I would start off with a nice shot of a Pademelon, or is it a Rufus Wallaby - are they the same thing?

Now what the park is most famous for Russel Falls.

Yes I took more than one photo.

Oops not quite the last one. This is the very top of Russell Falls near Horseshoe Falls.

I had to walk up a lot of steps from Russell Falls to get here but I think it was worth it.

Turns the complete 3 falls walk circuit was closed. You can also drive to a car park and have a longer but flat walk into Horseshoe falls.

I wasn't able to do the circuit but I could still walk to all three falls. I had to walk down about 200 steps to get here. Not looking forward to walking back up 🙂

Mt Field National Park - Lake Dobson

Took a drive from the camp site up as far as the road goes. It ends at Lake Dobson.

Mt Field National Park - Lake Dobson

The walk around the lake takes you through Pandani (Spelling ?) Grove.

The area is a bit weird in that there are huts buildings scattered about in the bush with seemingly only pedestrian access. Signs warning of skiers but I could see any cleared ski runs.
