Post 511 Yorke Peninsular – Tiparra Rocks

Tiparra Rocks

We ended up with this choice camp spot at Tiparra Rocks Campground. How we got it is a longer story. This camp spots are unallocated and you book on line simply for a spot at one of the many campsites in the region. When we drove in here all the sites were occupied (including by people deliberating setting up to restrict access by others even though there was heaps of room)

We drove further down to the next site but it was just as busy and behind the dunes with no view. We came back to Tiparra Rocks and being small set up here.

Trying to get a bit arty.

And then the stars came out.

I'll have to create an album.

Post 512 Yorke Peninsular – Seen Better Days

Seen Better Days

The building material of choice was and to some extent still is stone. This means the area has more sense of history than Queensland as a lot of these buildings are still around.

I had just finished saying to Ann that next time we say a stone building and cultivated field I was going to stop and photograph it and we drove past this gem.

Seen better days.

Cape Jervis Caravan Park

Not your traditional Big 4 caravan park, the park is set among the buildings of an old sheep station. This wall in the sunset is it old shearing shed.
