We drove down through the Arthur Pieman conservation area from Arthur River. A very scenic drive that I would highly recommend. (Gravel road with some steep bits that have been sealed)
Waratah is an old tin mining town. The water fall used to be surround by stampers and tin processing plants all powered by water wheels and the water fall.
Waratah
Perhaps not ancient but some old mining equipment in town.
Waratah
Still some interesting old building in town.

Ann found some platypus in the pond above the falls. The best I could do was this duck family.
Our first sighting of Cradle Mountain from a lookout on the way in. Not sure I am impressed by the cloud bank moving in.
Dove Lake
We caught the shuttle bus from the visitors centre to Dove Lake and did the Dove Lake circuit.

Cradle Mountain from the Dove Lake walk.
Cradle Mountain
Not with the waters of Dove Lake in the foreground but some of the prevalent button grass.

I waded into the cold water to take this shot. Ann may have made some derogatory comments on Facebook. I too am not sure it was worth it but you have to try.

I thought this lake circuit was flat!

Ann might not have enjoyed this section of the track she did really well.
The board walk at Ronny Creek is a great place for wombat spotting. I thought that with daylight saving it would be 9 or 10 pm before they came out. These were out quite early in the afternoon at 3:00 pm.
