Gibb River Rd. - Mornington Wilderness Camp

We took a 80km detour off the Gibb River Road into the Mornington Wilderness Camp for a couple of days.

No we didn't find any Gouldian Finches. Did see a few of these Crimson Finches though.

The first afternoon we found the Fitzroy River - that name sounds familiar 🙂 and had a refreshing dip.

The next day we hired the paddles and life jackets for a paddle through the Dimond Gorge. The canoe was already at the Gorge a 24km gravel road/track away from reception.

Stole the photo from Ann. I was paddling.

This Boab is at the start of the other Gorge at Mornington (Sir John Gorge). There are not enough hours to do both gorges in the one day.
