Bruny Island

Managed to get a cancellation at a dentist in New Norfolk. Tooth has a temporary filling. I have some antibotics. Shopping is done and before you know it we are on the Bruny Island ferry - completely unplanned.

Bruny Cruise

We booked to do the Bruny Island Cruise. Follow the yellow boat road. Those Yammys should push us along.

Bruny Cruise

Cave 1 and Cave 2. Our firs look at the Dolerite Cliffs for this cruise.

Bruny Cruise

The Monument. Rumour is that there are 2 1 dollar coins on the top. It has been climbed twice and each time the person left a dollar up there.

Bruny Cruise

On the cruise you certainly get close enough to the cliff formations. Usually too close for me and my 70 200 lens.

Bruny Cruise

The top of an under sea cave that acts as a blow hole with the waves.

Bruny Cruise

Even closer.  The boat does go close enough to that the people up the front are threatened with a shower.

Bruny Cruise

Cockatoo Cave. Should that be Biloela Cave.

Bruny Cruise

Black Faced Cormarants

Bruny Cruise

While not through the cave/tunnel we drove into this cave and backed out then did the same in reverse so those at the back of the boat could get a view/photo. The skipper was pretty good in that regard ensuring that everybody in the boat front back left right had a chance to see things.

Bruny Cruise

Australian fur seals. These are all males.

Australian fur seals.

Not far away are the Kiwis. I didn't quite catch the talk but I think these used to be called the New Zealand fur seal but are now called the long nosed fur seal.

Long Nosed Fur Seal.

Long Nosed Fur Seal. There were also a lot of these swimming but I could grab a shot.

Bruny Cruise

Lets call it Bridge Rock.

Bruny Cruise

Some bull kelp in the surf zone.

Time to head for home. I was really impressed with the way both the boat and the skipper handled the contditions. We were punching into a choppy sea all the way home.
