Herberton

Spent a little bit of time having a look around Herberton. Could this have been the hostel were Mum and Dad worked before any of us came along? It is next to a "church" that has now been converted to a house.

Irvinebank

Discovered this small historical town/village on the way from Herberton to Chillagoe.

This is a shot of the ruins of the tin mill used to crush and smelt tin.

Another "building" in the mill grounds.

This is the construction of the dam wall holding back water for use in the mill. Looks like it needs a bit of repair work.

Chillagoe

This is all that remains of the Smelter at Chillagoe. 3 stacks one for the roasters, one for the power station, and one for the smelter wth the flue going up the hill.

This shot was taken with the fading light after sunset.
