Undara - Lava Tubes

Another great sunset at the Undara Caravan Park that I almost missed.

Undara is not on the Cape but we are not home yet so it is still part of these posts.

Undara

Overlooking the Undara resort.

We enjoyed out two nights here. All the amenities and yet still feels part of the bush. The main reception and bar area along with a lot of the accommodation is based on tastefully repurposed Queensland Rail wooden passenger wagons.

Undara

Further along the Bluff walk I disturbed a group of Rock Wallabies.

Undara

Entrance to one of the lava tubes. The fig tree is part of a small vine thicket that survives around the entrances to the lave tubes.

Undara

The weathering and oxidation of the rocks leads to these abstract patterns in the roof.

Undara

The tree roots from outside extend along the floor of the lava tube.

Unfortunately the tour overlapped with Clara's usual lunchtime. Nana and Clara stayed at the entrance to this tube for a bite to eat.

Cracow

We left  Roderick, Jodelle and Clara at Emerald and they travelled home.

We had one more overnight stop before we got home.

Tea at the Cracow Pub was good - pretty much home cooking.

Cracow

I had a walk down the main street with my camera.
